Biography

Dr. Elijah Dixon attended medical school at the University of Manitoba, and then surgical residency at the University of Calgary. From there he went to the University of Toronto and did a fellowship in Hepatobiliary/pancreatic surgery and GI transplantation at the Toronto Hospital. He then proceeded to the Harvard School of Public Health and did a Masters in Epidemiology. In 2004 he returned to the University of Calgary where he is a Professor of Surgery, Oncology, and Community Health Sciences.  His practice is focused on Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgical Oncology. His research is focused on health services research, clinical trials, and improving the quality of cancer surgery.

Dr Dixon is Past President of the AHPBA and the Canadian Association of General Surgeons. He is currently Deputy Department Head Surgery, University of Calgary in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
