Pamela is a Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology with a cross-appointment in the Department of Oncology. She is a member of the section of Gynecologic Oncology, Alberta Health Services, and Cancer Care Alberta.
Her academic interests focus on health equity, with a special interest in addressing disparities in women’s health using an intersectional lens, including women’s access to surgical and oncological care. She is committed to embedding health equity principles into health professions education and learning health systems to improve health outcomes and promoting inclusive leadership and governance in medical schools.
Pamela has held several leadership roles including Assistant Dean, Postgraduate Medical Education, Deputy Head, Education for the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Program Director of the Gynecologic Oncology (interim) and Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training programs; and Chair of the Association of Professors of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Canada. Currently, she serves as Associate Dean, Precision Equity and Social Justice Office, and in roles with the AFMC and the Royal College Obstetrics & Gynecology Specialty Committee.
