Dr. George Francis is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Clinical Neurosciences as well as the Department of Oncology, Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary. His education includes medical school (University of Alberta – 2011), residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (University of Alberta – 2016) and a clinical fellowship in cancer rehabilitation (MD Anderson Cancer Center, USA, 2017). He then returned to Calgary, with a clinical practice in cancer rehabilitation at the Arthur Child Cancer Centre.
Dr. Francis is a passionate medical educator, having won medical education awards both locally and nationally. He is the Educational Lead for the Alberta Cancer Physiatry Program, and the Calgary Cancer Rehabilitation Fellowship Director. He has a vested interest in cancer rehabilitation program development, medical education for trainees and patients, and recognizing the importance of both maximizing and adapting to physical & cognitive functional changes due to cancer and its treatments.
