Biography

After completing her MD at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Dr. Hao did her Internal Medicine residency in Calgary, her Medical Oncology training at the University of Ottawa, and a Clinical Research Fellowship in cancer drug development at the Institute for Drug Development, Cancer Therapy & Research Centre in San Antonio, Texas.  Dr. Hao joined the Tom Baker Cancer Centre / University of Calgary in December, 2001 where she is actively involved in both clinical and translational research focusing on thoracic as well as head and neck malignancies. She has served as a longstanding member on the Health Research Ethics Board of Alberta – Cancer Committee. Dr. Hao is Associate Professor of Medicine at University of Calgary Cumming School of Medicine where she is involved in teaching at all levels.  

Dr. Hao is a Medical Oncologist, at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and Associate Professor at the Cummings School of Medicine, University of Calgary, in Calgary, Alberta. There she is actively involved in both clinical and translational research in both thoracic as well as head and neck malignancies. She has a background in Phase I/new drug development, serves on the Health Research Ethics Board of Alberta – Cancer Committee, and sits on the executive of the Canadian Association of Medical Oncologists.
