Dr. Harvey is an Associate Professor of Surgery and Oncology. His clinical focus is on endocrine surgical disease (thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal and GI neuroendocrine). He completed a general surgery residency at the University of Calgary and an Endocrine Surgery Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. His clinical research interests include outcomes research related to endocrine surgical conditions and therapies.
Dr. Harvey is heavily involved in academics related to medical education. He has currently served as in numerous roles at the Cumming School of Medicine including: 1) Director of the surgical clerkship; 2) Director of UME evaluation; 3) Assistant Dean of Program Evaluation; 4) Director of the Office of Faculty Development; and 5) Program Director – Endocrine Surgery Fellowship. Current roles include: 1) Assistant Dean of Distributed Learning & Rural Initiative (DLRI); and 2) Program Director – General Surgery. He is passionate about medical education at all levels.
