Biography

Dr. Deirdre Jenkins is a Hematologist who practices both malignant and benign hematology.  She has been in practice since 2003 at the University of Calgary/Tom Baker Cancer Centre.  She has a special interest in myeloproliferative neoplasms and other myeloid disorders.  Dr. Jenkins went on the get a Master’s of Health Professions Education through the University of Illinois.  She has held numerous educational leadership positions and has been recognized for her contributions through many teaching awards. Her other area of expertise is conflict resolution and fair treatment.  She completed Ombuds training through York University and an Associate Certificate in Leadership and Conflict Resolution through the Justice Institute of British Columbia. She is passionate about social justice and advocacy for medical students and residents.
