Dr Vanessa Krause is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, University of Calgary, and a medical oncologist at the Tom Baker Cancer Center with more than 15 years of experience in the management of breast and gastrointestinal cancers. She is also the medical lead for Quality Safety and Outcomes Improvement for Cancer Care Alberta, and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety through the Institute for Healthcare Performance Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto. Her major area of study currently is focused on the development of quality and safety key performance indicators for CCA, to drive learning and quality improvement and to support excellence in the care of cancer patients.
