Nicolas Ploquin completed his PhD in Radiation Oncology Physics at the University of Calgary in 2007. He began his professional career at The Ottawa Hospital Cancer Centre, where he completed his residency and subsequently worked as a Medical Physicist. In 2012, he returned to Calgary to join the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, now the Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre.
In his clinical role, Nicolas serves as the lead for the Stereotactic Radiosurgery Program and the CNS Site Group. His interests include the development and optimization of stereotactic ablative radiotherapy techniques and participation in global oncology initiatives.
Since joining the Calgary program, he has been actively involved in teaching and supervision within the University of Calgary’s Medical Physics Educational Program. He currently serves as Director of the Medical Physics Residency Program at the University of Calgary and is a member and Fellow of the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine.
