Dr. Shack is the Director of Cancer Advanced Analytics a department which includes the Alberta Cancer Registry, Data Integrity and Integration and Cancer Surveillance & Reporting. Together these teams are the hub of cancer information for AHS registering cancer diagnosis, analyzing and reporting and integrating the data for greater utilization. The departments supports researchers, operations, planning and local/national/international studies in data and linkage to cancer data. Dr. Shack is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Dept of Oncology as well as Community Health Sciences. Dr. Shack’s work largely focuses on cancer epidemiology and surveillance, treatment pathways, survival, system performance measures and linkage and analysis of administrative datasets. Her background is in cancer epidemiology, survival and socioeconomic inequalities.
