Biography

Dr. Shane Sinclair is an Associate Professor and Cancer Care Research Professor with the University of Calgary, Faculty of Nursing and an Adjunct  Professor in the Department of Oncology, Division of Palliative Medicine, Cumming School of Medicine.  He is the Director of the Compassion Research Lab, a nationally funded, internationally recognized research lab focused on advancing the art and science of compassion, which recently developed the Sinclair Compassion Questionnaire (SCQ)—a valid and reliable patient reported compassion measure. He is the recipient of the International Psychosocial Oncology Society New Investigator Award, the CIHR Institute of Cancer Research New Investigator Award, the CIHR Institute of Cancer Research Award for Research Excellence; the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care Award of Research Excellence; the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care Lifetime Achievement Award, and is the former President Canadian Association of Psychosocial Oncology and is a former Top 40 under 40 Awardee.
