Dr. Daniel Heng, Division Head
The Tom Baker Cancer Centre currently has 27 medical oncologists, 10 clinical associates, 4 clinical assistants and a full residency and subspecialty fellowship program. We provide all medical oncology services to the City of Calgary and its surroundings. We are excited to teach the future generation of oncologists, perform cutting-edge research, and continue to grow our faculty. We are home to many medical oncology initiatives which include the:
- Precision Oncology Experimental Therapeutics (POET) program which makes next-generation sequencing and tumor molecular rounds available.
- Oncology Outcomes (O2) collaboration harnessing our real-world evidence capabilities with provincial-wide databases (www.oncoutcomes.com).
- International mRCC Database Consortium (IMDC) which is the world’s largest multicenter multitherapy database of metastatic renal cell carcinoma patients (www.IMDConline.com).
Medical Oncologists have a number of leadership roles within the Department of Oncology and Provincial cancer system. We also have several oncologists that lead tumor groups locally and provincially.
